Exhibition Nordic Nature

Thank you all who registered for the exhibition and thank you all who have been able to finish their binding for the coming Nordic Nature exhibition! So far around 59 bindings have arrived at the bookbinding department in the National and University Library in Reykjavik.

The bindings have been photographed not just traditionally but also with a 3D camera. Many thanks to our Icelandic friends for this huge task! It will be exciting to see the results.

The exhibition has its own website, with links to 3D images.

The exhibition is organized by Nordic Bookbinding Society in collaboration with the Icelandic National and University Library and the Icelandic bookbinders JAM-group. Our Icelandic partners now have the biggest work ahead — many thanks to you all in advance!

Important dates

The exhibition will be held in the National and University Library of Iceland Reykjavik starting 23rd of April until 1st of September. Please note that the library will be closed for two weeks’ summer holiday beginning Monday 21st July and will reopen again Tuesday 5th of August.

The vernissage of the exhibition will be held on the 23rd of April, and we are planning to have activities also for the next two days 24th and 25th of April (workshop, show and tell, visits). Everyone is welcome, whether you have participated in the exhibition or not and are a member or not. The program with all the details is still in the making, and we will inform you when the plans are finalized. Hopefully we will see many of you in Reykjavik!

The photos of the bindings will be posted on a special web-site, release date 23rd of April and on our social media accounts:

Exhibition, not competition

As stated in our articles of association, one of the participants will be awarded the PA prize (150 €). The selection is made by the NBS exhibition committee, and they wish to give the award for outstanding craftsmanship.

If you have any questions please send e-mail to kristine@nordicbookbindingsociety.com

Please pack your books well in a protective box! Please do not value of books to high as it will affect the postal costs. After the exhibition the books will be returned to the participants during September 2025. We plan to reuse shipment packaging.
